Walkthrough[]
Once the player has met the requirements, this quest can be started by speaking with Anna
Dialogue
Player, just who I wanted to see! I know something we could do so Elsa feels welcome when she visits Dreamlight Valley. Do you have time to help me?
→ What do you need?
I want to find somewhere that feels like it's made just for Elsa. Somewhere... somewhere...
→ ...icy?
Exactly!
There's an Ice Cavern I saw on the other side of the Forest of Valor that reminds me of the amazing ice structures Elsa builds.
But I need your help to get there because of those tree stumps blocking the bridge. Follow me! I'll show you!
Anna will tell the player that she has found a cave that Elsa would like, but that it is currently inaccessible. The player must follow Anna to the bridge to see and talk to her again.
Dialogue
This is the path to the Ice Cavern. And, as you can see... we've got a problem blocking our way.
I tried to dig up the stumps, but they're pretty fierce. The roots are all dug in. I don't think a regular shovel is gonna get this done.
Lucky you. I've got my magic Shovel right here!
Of course you have a magic Shovel. You're the best, player!
C'mon, let's clear the bridge.
Uh oh.
"Uh oh"? Uh oh... what?
I don't think even my Shovel's going to do the trick. Those things look like they feed off of Dark Magic.
Okay... okay... We just have to think of something else. I can't wait for Elsa to see this place!
→ There's gotta be a way to get past these stumps.
I know, right? Let me think...
*gasp* Wait a second... I've got it!
The other day I was looking at the books in my library and found a book about mystical flora and fauna.
It was pretty technical, but I bet it has the answer to clearing these stumps away.
Let's go find that book at my house!
Anna has an idea on how to clear the stumps, but the player must take her to her house to find a book.
The book -- Mystical Flora & Fauna -- can be found in Anna's library, sparkling on a table along the right wall, and then can be given to her.
Dialogue
*gives Mystical Flora & Fauna*
Wait -- I remember! Before the Forgetting, I borrowed this book from Merlin when those stumps first showed up so we could get rid of them.
→ I hope Merlin doesn't charge late fees.
Oh, he wouldn't. Would he? Um, maybe I'll just slip it back on his shelf when he's not looking...
It says here that to make a magic shovel strong enough to break through the Dark Magic, we're gonna need...
...Softwood, Hardwood, Tinkering Parts, and Iron Ingots.
I'll gather those up and put them all together at a Crafting Station.
Thanks, player. I'll keep looking for another way to get across, just in case. Come find me when you've gotten rid of those tree stumps.
Tinkering Parts are further refined from Iron Ingots -- 2 additional ingots will create the 3 parts the player needs.
When the player has the materials, the Shovel Blade can be crafted at any Crafting Station under the Potion & Enchantment section. Once crafted, the upgrade can be used from the player's inventory, giving the Shovel the ability to remove Tree Stumps.
The player now needs to return to the bridge that Anna showed them and remove the tree stumps blocking the way.
Once the stumps have been cleared, the player can return to Anna.
Dialogue
I cleared away those stumps blocking the bridge.
Wow! Nice work, player. The Valley is really lucky to have you.
→ Aw shucks. Just doing my best.
Which is pretty great! I can't believe how much you've done for this place.
C'mon, let's go check out that Ice Cavern!
Following this dialogue, the player must go with Anna to the Ice Cavern and speak with her again.
Dialogue
Elsa will love it here. It's peaceful, and beautiful, not to mention the ice.
I can't wait to show her this place.
Write her a letter, and I'll take a photo!
→ It'll be a team effort!
A photo? Oh, you mean a photograph! We just got a photographer in Arendelle. The pictures he makes are amazing! What a great idea. I know that together, we can make sure Elsa feels welcome here.
I'll write the letter while you take the photograph.
The player will suggest that Anna write a letter for Elsa while the player takes a photo of the Ice Cavern. The player must take the picture and speak with Anna to show her.
Dialogue
That photograph's incredible, player! Have you ever thought about doing photography for a living?
→ It's just a hobby.
Well, I think it's amazing!
When Elsa sees your photograph, she'll know that the Valley is a place she has to visit.
Here, take my letter.
You'll have to go through the door to our realm in the Dream Castle.
I know I can't do it because of the effects of the Forgetting.
Anna will explain that she can't go through the door to the Frozen Realm because of the Forgetting and ask the player to deliver Anna's Letter and the photo to Elsa.
The player can find the door to the realm in the Dream Castle or open the map and click on the icon for the Dream Castle to open the Realm menu and travel there directly.
Once in the Frozen Realm, the player can give the letter to Elsa.
Dialogue
Hello, player. I'm glad to see you again. Is my sister enjoying her visit to your Valley?
→ She misses you. A lot.
I miss her too.
She thought you might. That's why she wanted me to give you this...
Oh?
You. I have this letter for you.
A letter? I recognize this seal! It's from Anna.
Hmm... She says your Valley is amazing... Oh, and this photograph? What a strange Ice Cavern. She wants me to come and see it in person.
I do miss her... so much. And things here have been back in balance for a while now. Maybe I could visit your Village...
There are just a few things I need to take care of first.
But once that's all sorted out, I'll let you know that I'm ready to come to the Village.
I'll tell Anna. Thanks, Elsa!
The player must return to Anna and give her Elsa's answer.
Dialogue
You're back! What did Elsa say?
There are a few things she needs to take care of first...
...but she's planning to come to visit Dreamlight Valley as soon as she can.
She is? Woo-hoo! Player, you're the best!
→ I wanted to make you happy.
Oh, that is so nice.
Thank you for everything. I can't wait to see my sister again!
Finishing this quest will immediately start Welcoming Elsa.
